The restaurant is open in the winter.

In November-December we will serve our famous Christmas table.

From January to March we serve lunch buffet some days and dinner almost daily.

At our Riverside Restaurant, overlooking the grandeur of Kukkolaforsen, Torne River’s largest rapid, our culinary identity mirrors the robust Tornedalian heritage infused with global inspirations. We craft an experience harmonizing sustainability, tradition, and international influences. Fresh ingredients sourced from the forests, river’s embrace, and local farms define our offerings. For every occasion, our restaurant adapts its offerings, reflecting seasonal treasures.

Menu selections boast Northern and Tornedalian flavors, thoughtfully prepared to highlight regional tastes, varying with the seasons. Concerning allergies or special diets, our team welcomes inquiries. Group menus tailored for larger gatherings are also available; contact us for details.

Christmas table

You start with a steaming hot lingonberry mulled wine, then a traditional Christmas table with Tornedalian specialities and many classic dishes. According to Tornedalian tradition, we have a wide variety of whitefish, salmon and herring in different forms. After the meal, coffee and various desserts and cakes are served, all in a lovely, Christmas atmosphere.

Winter dinner

The raw materials are taken from the large pantry around the knot. Everything is prepared in the best possible way to bring out the flavours of Norrland and Tornedal. The Riverside cafe operates from pre-midsummer week to early August, offering SIA ice cream, light bites like hamburgers, kebabs, and a selection of coffee and pastries to relish on the outdoor terrace overlooking the river.
