We start with a sleigh ride pulled by a snowmobile. The Torne River is the largest free-flowing river in Europe. Like all large rivers in the past, it has provided much of the daily food for the people living in the area. During the programme you will see two methods of fishing. The guide will show you how to drill a hole in the ice and prepare the ice fishing rod and bait. Then it’s time to test your skills. Ice fishing is usually done during the daylight hours, as it’s the warmest time of the day. Theoretically, fish can see well and look for food. You will also see how burbots are caught.
